Oh, I appreciate this convenience of having downloadable patterns, I look forward to checking out all 30 designs. What I like about this concept is that we get to choose whether we want to print a pattern or not. That way we don't waste ink and paper printing extra patterns we won't use. If that's the way you want to draft your patterns there are several good books and other websites about the subject.
But except for the few designs which are only basically made from rectangles such as a gathered skirt, it is not possible to just "give instructions" for drawing the crutch curve on trousers, or a neckline or a sleeve head. I agree that perhaps those curves could be the only bit you need to print off and the length of any straight lines could be shown, but don't forget websites of this sort need to cater for people with less skill and experience than you apparently have.
You could always do a print preview and decide which pages you need to print and which you could guesstimate using common sense, such as the leg on a pair of trousers.
So many great patterns! And the fact that they're printable makes it so convenient. Thanks, AllFreeSewing! I'm looking for a pattern for fleece mittens. Can anyone direct me to a free fleece mitten pattern??

How to put a hood on a cape? I used your tutorial to make a luxurious faux-fur cape for my sister for Christmas. Instead of having it close with a ribbon I bought an antique pin and attached it to the cape.
I did have quite a bit of trouble trying to get my fabrics to stay in place and line up correctly while I was sewing — especially around the neck, but I think that was a result of the fabrics I was using — thick fur and silky interfacing. Thanks for helping me make my first cape! I saved your pattern and am going to make one for myself! Hi there, The patterns and tutorials on the blog are not in PDF format.
I only offer PDF for my patterns for sale and the free party dress pattern. Have a great day! Thank you for this! Lindsay Wilkes is the owner and designer behind The Cottage Mama. My neck circumference was Take this number and round it up to the closest. Now we are ready to cut.
First, fold your outer fabric in half widthwise and then fold it up lengthwise so you have two layers on top of each other with one corner completely closed and the other side being open. On the corner that has the closed fabric edge, hold the measuring tape on the corner and mark several locations along an arc whatever your radius distance was. Connect your marks to have a complete arc. This will be the line you will cut for your neck. Place the cut outer piece on top of the uncut lining piece which you should have folded in half widthwise and then lengthwise just as you did the first fabric.
Now, you should have 2 cut cape pieces that look like the picture below once you open them up. Do this on both sides of the cut center edge.
This is going to be your placement line for your ribbon. Love It? Great for the fall season, this comfortable and warm cape is ideal for keeping in the car when the day is colder than expected.
